BOB THOMPSON – Pastor

Pastor Bob’s primary hobbies are his wife Linda and Corinth, which is a good thing since Linda is also a colleague on the church staff. He also enjoys reading and yard work.  The Thompsons met at Columbia Bible College (now Columbia International University), where they both graduated with bachelor’s degrees in 1978.  Bob later returned to Columbia to earn the Master of Divinity in 1987, and earned the Doctor of Ministry from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary in 2003.  Bob and Linda enjoy weekly video chats with their three children, Philip, Cara, and Jeni, now grown and spread out from Wilmington, NC to Honolulu, HI. 

One of Pastor Bob’s favorite passages of Scripture is Hosea 6:3 – “So let us know, let us press on to know the Lord. His going forth is as certain as the dawn and he will come to us like the rain, like the spring rain watering the earth.”

PAUL CUMMINGS – Associate Pastor

Pastor Paul has been married to his wonderful wife Danielle since 1995. They have two beautiful daughters, Molly and Hannah. Paul is a graduate of Appalachian State University and Baptist Theological Seminary (Richmond, VA). He was ordained in 1999, and has been serving Corinth since 2000. Paul loves music, the outdoors, and time with his family. And he loves serving at Corinth! 

One of Pastor Paul’s favorite passages of Scripture is Philippians 2:13 – “For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.”

AMY STICKLER – Associate Pastor

Pastor Amy earned her B.A. in Philosophy and Religion at Lenoir-Rhyne University (2008) and her Master of Divinity in Biblical Studies from Gardner-Webb University (2012). In her free time, she enjoys traveling, being outdoors, cooking, and reading. Amy was ordained at Corinth and joined the pastoral staff in 2016. Her main areas of responsibility include technology, communications, and missions.

One of Pastor Amy’s favorite passages of Scripture is Colossians 3:15 – “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.”

LORI BLOCKER – Associate Pastor

Pastor Lori claimed North Carolina as her home in November 2011 after visiting family here for almost 30 years. She is a graduate of Candler School of Theology (Emory University, 2005). She served several churches as both Pastor in Charge and Associate Pastor of Congregational Care. She completed a clinical residency for Chaplains at the Charlie Norwood VA Hospital in Sept 2011 (Augusta, GA). She joined Corinth’s staff in April 2012 as Visitation Pastor. Lori was ordained at Corinth in November 2013. Lori’s family at Corinth is growing and includes her parents (Curtis & Shirley Blocker), her sister (Marty Simmons) and family. Lori’s other sister and family lives in Tierre Verde, FL.

One of Pastor Lori’s favorite passages of Scripture is Proverbs 19:21 – “Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”

BILL HOWELL – Associate Pastor

Pastor Bill was honorably discharged after 23 years of service in the US Navy. He is married to Susan, and he enjoys woodworking and competitive shooting. Bill graduate from Williamsfield High School (1966), and earned an Associate of Arts degree from Mohegan College in Norwich, CT in 1983. While in the Navy, he accumulated upper level college credit to fulfill requirements of a Bachelor’s degree. He left the Navy in 1995, and then attended Columbia International University, earning a Master of Divinity in 1998. Pastor Bill joined the Crossover Communications Ministry Team upon graduation from Columbia, and became Associate Director of Covecrest, a conference and retreat center for Christian youth and adults. He served at Covecrest from 1998 until 2000, when he accepted a call to Corinth. Pastor Bill is “the cute one” on staff. 

One of Pastor Bill’s favorite passages of Scripture is Hebrews 11:1 – “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
